Counseling
My purpose as a Counselor is to provide you with an open and supportive place to explore and process your thoughts, feelings and experiences while on your personal growth journey. You can explore whatever is important to you—It is your time! Many people discuss such things as their relationships, spirituality, vocational choices and life transitions. I specialize in treating anxiety and depression.
My training includes a master’s degree (MA) and a doctoral degree (PsyD) in clinical psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, CA). I am also a graduate of The New School of Massage, Bodywork & Healing in Chicago, IL. am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Illinois.
Note to Counselors: Given the intense nature of Therapeutic Bodywork, I will not see the same client for psychotherapy and bodywork. What this means for you as a counselor, is that I will be fully supporting YOUR counseling work with YOUR client. I will not become their "talk" therapist. It is my practice when doing Therapeutic Bodywork to have clients sign a release form so that you (as the Primary therapist) and I (as an Adjunct therapist) can collaborate on treatment issues. I do this to maintain very clear/ethical boundaries. My own psychotherapy approach in "talk therapy" is psychodynamic/insight oriented. This is an advantage I have given my psychological training (MA and PsyD), I am very aware of the powerful transference and countertransference issues that can evolve in Bodywork modalities--and am able to work with them to the benefit of the client and your work with them.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have about Therapeutic Bodywork. Please feel free to use the contact form tab above to e-mail me or call me at: (630-207-5537). I look forward to hearing from you.
Pamela D. Trice, PsyD, LCPC, LMT
