Hello! My name is Dr. Pam Trice! I moved to Rochester in 2024 to be near
my family, after having a private practice in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. In this
practice, I served clients for 20+ years as a counselor. I entered the field of somatic
psychology after I experienced my own personal growth with a very gifted somatic
practitioner. She helped clients gain access to parts of themselves that
had not yet been accessed in traditional talk-therapy. I realized that this somatic
approach was an untapped resource for clients. I enrolled and graduated from massage
therapy school in 2012. I then specialized in somatic psychotherapy for the past 10+ years,
teaching both counselors and bodyworkers the importance of the body and somatic
awareness in wholistic treatment.
A little bit more--I was born near Pittsburgh, PA, but raised in rural upstate NY (Hello to Lima and Avon!) I graduated from Houghton College (1992) with a BS in Religion and Philosophy, and then attended Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston (1993). After a serious experience of clinical depression--and the healing that resulted working with an amazing therapist--I transferred to Fuller Graduate School of Psychology in Pasadena, CA, and earned both my Masters (1999) and Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree (2003). My pre-doctoral internship (similar to a residency) was in Chicago with the CACTC (Chicago Area Christian Training Consortium), and after completing it--I stayed in Chicago! I taught both graduate and undergraduate psychology students at Wheaton College (2003-2005) and also provided supervision for therapists in training. After teaching, I opened my private practice in Chicago--and have worked directly with clients ever since! It is my greatest joy to see people heal and grow--and be one of the people privileged to accompany them on their amazing journey!
